V Los Angeles se v neděli večer předávaly zlaté gramofony za říjen 2006 až září 2007 a my se podíváme, kteří umělci reprezentující hip-hop a R&B si některé z nich odnesli domů. Akce byla samozřejmě plná hvězd a na pódiu se vystřídala jména jako Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Fergie, John Legend, Kanye West, Rihanna nebo Aretha Franklin.
Nejvíce cen připadlo britské Amy Winehouse, jejíž druhé album „Back to Black“ jsme na webu ohodnotili jako R&B album roku. Amy, která je momentálně na protidrogovém léčení, si však svých pět gramofonků osobně nepřevzala, jelikož nedostala vízum do USA. Toto rozhodnutí bylo později změněno, ale v tu chvíli bylo příliš pozdě odcestovat, takže aspoň vystoupila přes satelit z Londýna.
